news values have been categorised by a number of writers and theorists. Listed below are the 'news values ' and the description;
Conflict - this can be any kind of conflict from war to relationship conflicts. Plus some theorists argue that a lot go news output is based on the idea of conflict.
Hardship and danger to the community - this refers to perceived threats either from people, nature or events.
The unusual - these are bizarre occurrences that are not normal in everyday happenings.
Scandal - This os misconduct and discreditable behaviour, usually involving high-profile people such as celebrities or politicians.
Individualism - This is mostly referred to stories which are about individuals and their great achievements being foregrounded, rather than focusing more on the wider community.

We mostly view the news through the tv (as most people have a tv). Also through a computer or phone.

task 3: what is a new agency?
This is a 'service' which provides news to the public. The 'agency' is an organisation that gathers news reports and sell them to other organisations/ services. There are three main agencies france-presse, associated press and reuters. these have offices which are all over the country.
